About 1st Lytchett Minster Scout Group

At the 1st Lytchett Minster Scout Group, we are proud to offer a range of scouting programmes for young people of all ages. Our group is made up of five different sections, each catering to a specific age range and developmental stage.

Our youngest members, aged 4-6, are known as Squirrels. This section provides a safe and nurturing environment for young children to begin their scouting journey. Our Squirrels participate in a range of fun and engaging activities that help them develop important social and emotional skills, such as teamwork, communication, and resilience.

The Beavers section is for children aged 6-8 and offers a more structured programme of activities. Here, children can develop their practical skills, gain confidence, and make new friends. Our Beavers enjoy a range of indoor and outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, and community service projects.

For children aged 8-10 and a half, our Cubs section offers a fun and challenging programme of activities that help children develop important life skills, such as problem-solving, leadership, and self-confidence. Our Cubs enjoy a range of activities, from crafts and games to outdoor adventures and badge work.

Our Scouts section is for young people aged 10 and a half to 14. Here, young people are encouraged to take on greater responsibility and leadership roles within the group. Our Scouts participate in a range of challenging activities, such as hillwalking, canoeing, and first aid training, that help them develop new skills and push themselves out of their comfort zone.

Finally, our Explorers section is for young people aged 14 to 18. This section provides a more advanced programme of activities that help young people develop their leadership and organisational skills. Our Explorers enjoy a range of exciting activities, such as expeditions, camping trips, and community service projects, that help them develop important life skills and prepare for adulthood.

At the 1st Lytchett Minster Scout Group, we are proud to offer a diverse and inclusive scouting experience for young people of all ages and backgrounds. We believe that scouting can make a positive impact on the lives of young people, helping them to develop important life skills, build lasting friendships, and become responsible and engaged members of their communities.
